Construction managers might be self-employed, trade contractors, or employees at construction companies.

Construction managers may schedule and coordinate contractors’ schedules. They must be ready to respond to emergencies and react to unexpected changes.

Construction managers typically work on site at construction sites. If they are overseeing multiple projects, they may have to travel between sites. Construction managers typically work full-time with varying hours. There is a potential for additional hours when meeting deadlines and responding to site emergencies.
